6/12（月）の夜、NZ短期留学（ホームステイ）保護者説明会が中学校図書室にてありました。本校はNZの南島にあるカイコライバレーカレッジ校と１９８８年に姉妹校提携を結び、それ以来、学校間交流やホームステイを行ってきました。１年留学と短期留学があり、毎年夏に短期留学（１週間ほどのホームステイ＋観光）を実施しています。今年は中高で１２名の参加希望があり、コロナで中断していた短期留学を３年ぶりに再開する運びとなりました。これまでに長期・短期をあわせて５００名以上の本校生徒が海を渡り、NZの地で英語や異文化を学んできました。３年ぶりの交流がどんなものになるのか、今からとても楽しみです。

On the evening of Monday, June 12, there was a meeting for parents of NZ short-term exchange students (homestay) in the library.  Our school has had a sister school relationship with Kaikorai Valley College in the South Island of NZ since 1988.  Since then, we have been conducting inter-school exchange and homestay programs.

We offer both one-year and short-term study programs (one-week homestay + sightseeing) held every summer.  This year, 12 students from the junior and senior high schools are supposed to participate in the short-term study program, which had been suspended by Covid-19.

So far, more than 500 students from our school, both long term and short term, have crossed the ocean to study English and other cultures in NZ.  We are very much looking forward to seeing what the exchange program will be like after 3 years.
